Velvet embrace

Couched in the velvet embrace 

We melt into the violin stretches

We mark the strong notes, the bandoneon makes

Then stretching the pause as if we had

All the time in our lives 

catlike brushing, sensuous steps

We disappear in the embrace.

Become one to tango

 

Moments of stretched silence 

When the music finds a way in

Breathe in the flow breath out the music 

The winding axis brings the turn

The touch will pause the moment 

Suspension infuses rhythm into silence 

The wind rustles the leaves 

The trees swing to the rhythm 

We hover like the hummingbird

He lingers in suspended time

Before he pivots in midair, changing  direction

We reconnect, by embracing the music 

My partner uses the moment to adorn

The mysterious flapping of wings 

Around the foot gracefully planted

The music turns the leader who only leads himself

And becomes the follower .
